Dr. Satheesh Kathula Chairman, IAPC (2026-2027)

Dr. Satheesh Kathula

Dear Esteemed Members and Friends of the Indo-American Press Club,

It is with deep humility and a renewed sense of purpose that I accept the role of Chairman of the Indo-American Press Club. As a physician, educator, and advocate for global health, I view this responsibility not merely as an administrative appointment, but as a vital opportunity to align our collective vision with the pursuit of truth, community wellness, and the greater good of society.

For more than two decades, my life has been dedicated to the service of others—whether in the clinical halls of oncology and hematology, the lecture rooms at Wright State University, or in leadership roles such as the Presidency of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI). My work has always been grounded in a holistic approach to human well-being, bridging the gap between cutting-edge medical innovation—such as artificial intelligence in healthcare—and the foundational principles of lifestyle medicine and preventive care.

I bring this same commitment to the Indo-American Press Club. Just as medicine seeks to heal the individual, a free and responsible press seeks to heal and inform the community. The media possesses a unique power that transcends the mere delivery of news; it has the power to transform perspectives and foster global understanding.

Today, more than ever, the world requires journalists and storytellers who are not only driven by facts and data but also by compassion and integrity. I look forward to working alongside all of you to ensure our organization remains a beacon of conscious, courageous, and impactful journalism.

Looking ahead, I see the Indo-American Press Club evolving into a transformative force—one that not only upholds journalistic excellence but also fosters thoughtful dialogue, cultural connection, and holistic growth. In the coming year, our efforts will center around several core priorities

My vision for the Indo-American Press Club is rooted in four foundational pillars:

1. Conscious Journalism:

In an age of information overload, we must return to mindful reporting—where stories are curated with balance, dignity, and responsibility. We will promote journalism that nurtures understanding, compassion, and truth, rather than sensationalism.

2. Wellness and Resilience in Media:

Journalism is a demanding profession, and burnout is real. We will introduce wellness programs, including guided meditation sessions, yoga workshops, and mental health awareness initiatives specifically tailored for our media professionals.

3. Integrative Learning and Thought Leadership:

IAPC will become a platform for intellectual and spiritual enrichment. Through conferences, academic exchanges, and joint research with thought leaders across disciplines—from cardiology to consciousness—we will encourage dialogue that stretches beyond borders and beyond headlines.

4. Bridging Cultures through Storytelling:

Let us use the art of journalism to build cultural bridges. By highlighting stories from the Indian American diaspora and promoting intercultural harmony, we can be a beacon of unity in a fragmented world.

We will continue to support freedom of the press, champion ethical standards, and nurture upcoming voices in journalism. But we will now also emphasize the inner well-being of our members, knowing that a healthy journalist is a powerful journalist.

A Brief Note About My Journey:

I specialize in Medical Oncology and Hematology—a field that requires both scientific precision and profound empathy. My journey has taken me from the bedside of cancer patients for over twenty-two years to the lecture halls of Wright State University and the forefront of global healthcare leadership. Whether I am integrating artificial intelligence into clinical practice, advocating for lifestyle medicine, or organizing summits to reduce the global burden of disease, I have come to understand one universal truth: the human spirit is most resilient when it is supported by purpose, community, and unwavering compassion.

Let us now embark on a new path for IAPC—where journalism meets wisdom, where purpose fuels the press, and where healing words carry as much weight as breaking news.

I invite you to walk this path with me—with curiosity, courage, and compassion.

With gratitude and hope,
Dr. Satheesh Kathula
